More Ventalation ?

Thank you!! We had talked about that when building the coop... But didn't do it... I should have raised the roof so air could go underneath..... I'm pretty sure I can isolate it to where they won't eat it.....
you don't have to use fiberglass insulation, they make curogated plastic insulation that is as thick as a curogated cardboard boxes. One layer right on top of the coop, 6 inches above that make another layer possibly with a roofing material over top of that. ?

I agree with the other posters; you need open air on two sides, larger space, and roof insulation. I would add that shade trees and shrubs will be a huge help, although not the instant fix you need right now. Those tarp covered frames, (what are they called??) come in 10'x10' sizes, or larger, and can be pretty cheap at some of the big box stores. Your birds will cook in that coop as it is! Mary

Ok, I will have to make some adjustments.... I did plant some tree/bushes but won't help this summer..... I put a tarp over the top of run.... They tend to hang out under the coop bc it's shady and open..... I will get the roof insulated..... Since I have the back bottom portion open, could I just cut out a big section in front and screen it? I don't really want to mess with sides since the run and nesting boxes are on sides...
