More work on coop today, another step closer!

This was another long day at the coop, we got the electricity ran to the coop and hooked up (one light inside, motion light outside and two outlets), we ran the water lines to the coop, hung the nesting boxes (4) and put up the roosts. I am wondering if I need to paint the inside of the coop, all the wood is pressure treated except the walls which are T1-11 siding. I hope you like.

The nesting boxes are about 16 inches off the floor, hope thats ok

Sweet! Love the water line and electric. I plan on running some in my coop but I will be able to just plug the coop into an extension cord to get juice. No water line tho

I just got one wall framed on mine today. Man its hard work. lol

Although the dowels look real nice, I strongly suggest you rethink those. Chickens are ground fowl and do NOT "perch" like flying birds. The best roost for them is a 2x4 with the widest flat side up.

But your coop looks great! I know the sense of satisfaction from the construction as it progresses. The electric and water solutions are FANTASTIC! Keep up the good work!

Good job.. I will say though that I have found that hens like a next box with a cover You could still put some boards over the top leaving enough room for the hen to get into the box.

I think your bottom roost is big enough for 2 horizontal 2x4's, with enough room for a poop board underneath that. NICE JOB!
