Welcome. Don't worry, you are in good company. I think my eggs cost about $100 each.Hi, I became an accidental chicken owner when I moved to Northern Ireland a few years ago. The previous owners left us 7 chickens, in not the most secure run/coop setup, so I had to learn quickly! Within a year I was down to 1 Silkie who was the weakest of the girls and was constantly being picked on. She survived a fox attack and managed an entire winter on her own. She is now living her best life with 3 other Silkies including a daft roo and I’m about to set down half a dozen eggs in an incubator.
I’ve slowing been acquiring the Omlet brand coops and runs and so far I’m impressed. My husband not so much as I’ve turned into a bit of a crazy chicken lady who has spent a bloody fortune![]()

and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.
