Morning sickness questions

If you are sick enough you can't hold anything down. Go to the er! You getting dehydrated is not good for the pregnancy. They can give you a zofran shot, give you some iv meds and give your doc or midwife a call.
I was grossly ill with my 2nd baby, doc told me bananas have an enzyme that combats nausea. It did help as well as sour candies.

I spent the first 7 months of my third pregnancy with my head hanging over the toilet. Two of the few things that would stay down were beef jerky and pepsi.....my point being that if something sounds good to you even if it sounds very strange try and eat it.

very good point, Katy. It can get scary sometimes. during my last pregnancy it was hard to eat anything cuz i had heartburn so bad. so i ate what i could not caring if DH thought it was nasty or not lol

I've finally said enough is enough. I'm feeling weak and all that (and crying, but I think my antidepressant didn't stay down today), so I called the hospital and asked who the on-call doctor was. It's some guy I've never been to before, but I made an appointment at 1:30 today. My regular doctor and my midwife are on vacation yet. My MIL will be here by then to watch my daughter as the guys are outside finishing up on the geothermal system. (Yay cheap heat!) This should work out. My husband doesn't want to have to drive me in, but he may have no choice. He really wants to get pictures of what's going on. He's the webmaster for the company that's putting this system in. My in-laws own it, so it makes sense.

Anyway, I'll update you later. darn, I can't stop crying. The antidepressant must have not been digested. Gross, I know. That and I'm a big baby when I get this sick.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm trying to chew a piece of gum right now. Apples are a big no-no. They're actually one of the foods that I can't stand.

Be back in a while, I suppose. Unless the hospital has wi-fi and I'm allowed to bring the church's laptop.

This helped my sister when she was prego. Couldn't keep a sip of water down sometimes. Raise the head of your bed 4 to 6 inches and put pillows under your knees and/or small of your back depending on what feels good. If you have a favorite perfume or essential oil dab a little under your nose. I like sandalwood and lavender. Don't lay on your side when the nausea is bad-sit up and raise your arms above your waist. You can rest your arms on pillows or something. Some folks say fennel works. Chew on it or make a tea. Feel better girl.

Well, I found out if I had waited till tomorrow I would have been admitted and given the nice IV. I am a dehydrated, but not to that point yet. My in-laws got here, and I was in the bathroom. What a nice way to say hi. My MIL took over for the two year old and then told my husband that he had to drive me! Yay! What a great MIL! I'm on Zofran now. That's some wonderful stuff. Now, if I can just convince my husband he stinks, life will be much better.

I know morning sickness is awful! I hated it when I was going through it. However now that my biological clock seems to have ran out of time, what I wouldn't do to go through that once more.

I'm glad you're on Zofran and I hope that you have a great pregnancy!

I used to eat those plain salads they serve at Japenese reataurants. They come with a fresh ginger dressing that was sooo good. I kept them i the fridge at all times. My doc also put me on reglan.

I hope you feel better!

A very dear friend of mine had horrid morning sickness when she was prego with her triplets. This is what she said when I asked
1. Sour patch kids
She always had them with her and they are just as good as those prego-pops but way cheaper
2. Instead of the normal prenatal vits her Dr ended up putting her on Flinstones with iron. He told her it was the same just put in a milder form.

Hope that it might help you. I was very lucky with my lil ninja baby and never had any morning sickness. I hope you feel better
