Well I woke up this morning...opened my blind to look out onto the birds and what do I see......1 Wild Turk and 4 young wild Pheasants Hanging out on my buff pheasant pen. A few years ago I did let go about 2-3 dozen mongolian strain pheasants. And I would bet money these are some offspring to them. The turkey appeared either like a youngster itself or possibly a hen....but I was still semi asleep and didn't have a pair of binos nearby. It is cool though to see the wild birds come back...especially the pheasants as I'm almost 100% SURE they are the offspring of possibly the offspring of my birds I let go years back. And I also had a pen of bobwhite get out two years ago...and this year have been hearing a TON of calling down in the fields....
GAMEBIRDS...are truly my passion!

That's good that they are doing so well!! We have coyotes around here and all of the small game disappeared. The coyotes have finally moved on and the last couple days I have seen two turkey moms and a bunch of poults in the yard. It has been a few years since I have seen wild poults running around.

We also had a wild ring neck hang around trying to get on my penned girls. He would just sit on top of the cages.
