Morning time with indoor ducky!(pictures!)

Oh, how sweet! Love your special relationship with Gil! Just curious. Is she litter trained, or how does that work?
Not possible unfortunately. I realllllly wish. Diapers and designated blankets and towels. I try to use the diaper as least as possible just because I feel like she's cleaner with it off.

What a happy, loved and spoiled little baby you have.
I know how sweet and affectionate ducks can be, so I know she loves you to bits. I love all my ducks but I favor my drake, Asher. He will walk up to me and give me duck hugs all the time. He will come and stand with me and watch what I'm doing.
Of all my livestock, I just love my duckies.

Thank you! I know I am doing right by her but people will always have something to say but owners know their pets best. She's more of a kid too than a pet. She's been invited to all the grandparents houses for holiday and family gatherings and has made an appearance to all of them. The elders of the family always had ducks growing up so it always melts my heart to see them get so excited to be able to pet a duck again. They love giving her water out of wine glasses at parties and Gil always feels quite privileged!
Who cares what others say or think. If it works for you and your duck, then that's all that matters. I think it's awesome. If I could bring my ducks in, I would. BUT I have too many lol.

Ducks lack the sphincter control to litter or house train. When they gotta go, they just go.
Exactly... also about being spayed, a local breeder I knew had one of his egg layers spayed as a test to see how it affected her and she continued to lay non-fertile eggs. Was that not normal? Would spaying normally stop the laying cycle?

That doesn’t sound like spay to me. Laying eggs is ovulation, just like it is in women. If they’re laying eggs, they’re ovulating, that means any mating would result in fertile eggs.

I love Gilberta! I'd love to have a duck with me all the time. I don't think my employer would be ok with it! Until I retire, I'll have to settle for my "truck ducks"

If Gilberta is running out of duck footage have her check out my YouTube channel. My real duckies are on there.

Hahaha! Where did you buy that giant Rubber Ducky?
I managed to get my hands on two »Cool Ducks« at the local $-Store and the Duckies hated them first. Now they're part of the flock and everybody talks to them when in the pool.

I changed jobs a few weeks ago and giant rubber ducky, I named him Skipper because he has a sailor hat, was a hoing away present from my coworkers. The tag said suitable for ages 3 and up, which gave us a good laugh!
He's an inside duck now!
