Morning I have a nutty problem, my bobtail cock and coturnix hen were mating, she's now sitting on eggs! I’ve had these hens from weeks old, middle of March, and I have no coturnix cocks. The sheer logistics of him achieving his goal are astonishing. Or is it wishful thinking on her part?

Lizziehux, not your question but I am curious, I have a bobwhite male who has not yet fully grown in a cage with 3 coturnix females and 1 coturnix male. They have all been raised together and so far, at 12 weeks all still get along well. Do you have other birds with these 2 and how well do they get along? Been waffling on separating out Little Bob from my coturnix.

Hi guys, the hens have been laying for ages, but this is the first time they've made a nest, but if you recon they can’t be fertile, then I’ll just leave her on them until she gets bored.
i've got 1bob and 1 Chinese cock, six Finches and four coturnix hens, and they all get on fine. We even had a finch chick with a damaged wing that the Bob cock and one of the corturnix hens looked after at night. It is a bit confused Now though, scratches the ground like a quail, flys like a finch! What can you do!
