Hi all! Morrisbacon already lived on a ranch with chickens and dogs , when I moved to that home. Though Morrisbacon has finished his journey on this planet, hs name lives on in my heart forever. While I lived with him, I got myself a dog and promised I'd retire to a ranch someday. Rather than wait for the ranch, we started backyard chickening last summer with silkies. I grew up in a veterinary environment NYC style. So I've got an urban flock. The silkies we adopted last summer wound up to be roosters which was a great disappointment as we were in love but our neighborhood doesn't allow roosters. After rehoming them I soon grew woeful and sought out some day olds to retry again. That was December 15, 2019. Here I am today, they spent their first overnight out in the coop outside and I was pleased to see none of them froze during the night. Im praying the rain wont pick up again, as they really don't like living in the shower during the rain, but it'll do.
