Most Beauitiful Gamebird~RESULTS ON LAST PAGE~

Little off topic, but the Qauil... I notice some of the bobwhites have little "tophats?" Would that be an indication of a, rooster I guess you'd call them? I know hardly anything of Quail, really I hardly see any domestic and almost never wild. But I know a couple of days ago, we saw six bobwhite quail at the pond (which is maybe, 1 and a half to two miles away?) and a day or two later I saw them trotting across my yard and into the woods. I noticed it then, and wondered.

no the tophats have nothing to do with sex. both my males and female have them. males have white stripes on their heads and the females have tan stripes on there heads.
