After our new friends from upstate NY had lived in Maine for awhile my friend Tom said to me, "I've learned the 3 most commonly asked questions in Maine". Being a 9th generation resident of Bethel, Maine I was a bit surprised at his statement, I had to ask him what they were. "Got your deer yet?", "Got your wood in?", "Will it take a sticker?". I had to laugh because upon thinking about it he was right! To those who haven't a clue about the last question it has to do with our salted winter roads rusting out vehicles making them unable to pass a safety inspection, commonly referred to here as a "sticker".
