`most of my flock has scaly legs!

The focus is poor, but the one in the foreground does look to have significant scaly leg mites. Rubbing vaseline into the scales 1-2 times per week can help to smother the leg mites. Sulfur powder can also be added to the vaseline to kill mites. If you can bring them inside to give a warm soapy water soak to the legs first, and then dry them before the application of vaseline, that can help. An old toothbrush can also be used to rough up any scales. Here is a good article about scaly leg mites:
