Silver grey Dorking. I had one, Gracie, who died. She was about six? I have one now, Jane, who is two. My experience is that they are more intelligent, sweet-natured and human centered than the others in my flock. Never picked on another bird. Always coming up to me if I have treats or not. Gracie used to hop in my lap and Jane likes to be scritched on the neck. Constant little singing noises, pretty colours, lovely pale pale pink eggs.

It's okay. Most of us are storytellers, not statisticians. We're not going to choose a chicken based on its Oscar nominations! We just like hearing why some breeds and individuals capture your heart.
