Mostly new to hatching chickens and super excited!

So in my introduction I talked about doing an experimental hatch that only ended up with 1 success who turned into a rooster lol well now we're on hatch number 2 and the 1st hatch of the year. I have 2 chicks so far. For those of you who read my introduction the "early bird" chick (whom my 5 year old sister just announced she named Patches) is doing well. He's drinking and eating just fine, but has a little standing issue. Earlier this morning I checked my eggs under the broody (i had 5 more) and 2 were pipping. Checked them through out the day and number 2 chick hatched about an hour ago Pretty sure its going to be a Top Hat. Got 2 more eggs pipping and 1 zipping and one doing nothing. I also have 18 eggs in an incubator for a test run. Never used an incubator before so trying it out. Its getting pretty dark here though so I'm wondering if it'd be ok to help the others along or should i just leave em with the broody over night? chick one (Patches)

Well I left the Chicks out with the broody. I have a night time job throwing newspapers so i checked the chicks before I went to bed, before I left and when I came back. Chick #3 hatched before I went to bed. Chick #4 was hatched before I left, and #5 didnt hatch until the next day. Unfortunately, Chick #6 didnt make it past the pipping stage :/ It was very disconcerting but we got 5 others so we're happy about them survivng. We decided to see if the broody hen would take care of them this year. Last year she didnt do so well and the baby chick had to be brought inside. Thankfully this year she is taking care of them. We have 2 coops so we put them in the smaller one with a heat lamp. I lock them in at night (even though they dont leave the coop right now) so that nothing can get in and harm the chicks. During the day I open the door and turn the lamp off so the mama hen doesnt die of heat exhaustion.

Well we bought 4 Buff Orphingtons a couple days ago and put them out with the mama hen

and other chicks. She doesn't mind them being out there and takes care of them just like the others.

Lost 2 of the new Buff Orphingtons today to my moms dog :'( she's never bothered them before today so we weren't worried about her getting them. Lesson learned I guess...

Out of the coop today. She's been coming out with them the last few days. Very curious and wondrous they are lol

So here's a new update. The baby chicks are all doing fine. We have 5 here at the house and my grandma took 2 to her house. I have 20 new eggs I got off the web and shipped to me. 10 are in the incubator and 10 are under a hen who recently went broody. Not sure what breed they're going to be yet. Pretty excited for hatching day lol here are some updated pictures

This is the only picture where I got the one who used to be grey but is now looking like the gold Americana's with a black head

Found them roosting in a tree the other day lol
