Moth balls and pets

I know that moth balls keep away snakes and mice. I'm wondering, though, if I put them outside, if the cats we plan to adopt will try to eat them. Or maybe the offensive smell will keep the cats away, as they keep away the snakes and mice.

Anyone have any advise??

If your getting cats,why do you need the moth balls, Iwould be afraid some of my pets would eat them and die,I guess I just don't like moth balls. My chickens eat anything not covered over and nailed down.

Moth balls and pets dont mix too well. Be careful if you plan to have both around at the same time.
