Mothballs: fact or fiction

Someone told me that spreading mothballs around the exterior of the duck pen will help keep racoons away. True or False?

It depends on who you ask. Some people say they work, others no. All you can do is try it. I do know someone who put them under their deck and the family of skunks finally moved out.

I wouldn't do it, but just because mothballs are so toxic. I wouldn't want them lying around.
