I would say use some tape to help hold the shell together but I think there is to much shell missing. If it’s already internally piped I’d say it has a pretty good chance of making it. Time will tell

Very likely that's what happened. My hen did the same with her eggs when one died in shell. She ate it.UPDATE:
Went down this morning to find the cracked egg was missing. Lots of external pips going on tho. Mumma duck had eggshell on her beak; would she have of killed the suffering duckling?
Yes I'm thinking thats the case... we also have mice in our chicken coop and they sometimes eat the eggsVery likely that's what happened. My hen did the same with her eggs when one died in shell. She ate it.
