Hello everyone,
I created a profile today because every time I type a question in Google regarding chickens, I am presented with a conversation between BackYard Chicken members. So, I figured this is the place to be!
I am eager to get chickens of my own for eggs and meat. I am interested in labeling the meat as "organic" or "free range" but I am still researching. Currently, I am reading the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations from ecfr.gov (Is this where I should be looking?). I am not even halfway through and I am already feeling overwhelmed.. A few questions come to mind as I am researching.. It is worth it financially to pursue the qualifications of labeling organic? Are there less qualifications if I choose to lable "free range" or "antibiotic-free" ?
Any advice or information will be greatly appreciated,
Thank you,
