Mother hen attacked by other chickens

I'm actually basing my questions and my thoughts on Red Layers and nutrition...Interested to see what info they provide....

How old are the chicks? Are they still with her? Were chicks damaged in this hen fight? How long were she and chicks kept out of the flock? Curious about your flock size, coop and run size.

Yes....Lots of things are wrong and possibly easy fixes...

Update: she is doing fine the wound is healing beautifully and no signs of infection once so ever. I've moved her to pen next to the main flock to slowly start reintroducing her so far everyone is curious. Still not sure what cause them to attack her like that only thing I can think of is maybe one went after a chick and she defended it and the rest came to defend the other. Everyone is back to normal and showing no signs of aggression like before.
