So my hen (black in color) got her eggs hatched 2 months back and she has 9 chicks now but for the past few days we noticed that she pecks at one of the chicks who happen to be white in color. We have observed quite closely she doesnt peck at other babies just this one though its very docile. We have tried separating the chick but it gets anxious when we keep it away from its family.. really need help here.. we cant figure out the cause nor the solution for it.

At the age of 8 weeks they are old enough to fend for themselves and the mother hen starts to ween them by pecking. Mine usually will start to peck on the most self-reliant and impertinent little cockerel.
Oh so you say its quite normal? So should we keep the chick with the mother or separate it ourselves?

If you kept them separate from your other chickens, it would be best to let the mother hen rejoin the adult flock again, as she might even hurt the chicks badly if forced to stay with them.

You could also let them all join the adult flock, but at this point the mother hen will probably not defend them any longer against possible attacks from the other adults.

Okay Thankyou soo much

You are welcome! :) Let us know how the chicks get along.
Incubated some eggs but only had two hatch. I have a chicken brooding so I snuck in the two chick under her and took her eggs. At first she didn't do anything but now she pecks at them if the get near her. Should I just take them back out and raise them under a heat lamp?

How long has she been broody on the nest?

How old are the chicks?

It is best to sneak chicks under a broody in the dark at night so they will already have the chance to get to know each other during the night.
But be there in the morning at the first light in case she rejects and attacks them.

If she does not accept them you will have to raise them yourself with a heat source in a brooder box.
