My Silkie hen, who hatched two chicks two days ago, has a bad mite infestation that is causing her to abandon the final hatching chick, so it is having difficulty hatching.
(She is currently locked into a nesting box so that she is forced to sit on it.)
I've sprayed Manna Pro's poultry protector on her, but I don't always have success with it so I'm wondering what others do when their brooding/momma hens are infested with mites. Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

You need to use a product that actually kills lice and mites. Adams flea and tick spray or a similar permethrin/pyrethrin product will work, as will Sevin 5% garden dust. Many feed stores also carry a poultry dust with ingredients like this.
