I decided to get 2 full grown chickens that were already laying eggs. And I thought that was were my flock would end. Well One of my ladies decided to go broody. I tried to break of this but nothing worked. So the lady I got them from said I could let her hatch a clutch of eggs. Having chicks run around sounded like fun so I asked her if she could send me some fertilized eggs. I place 2 silkie, 2 cream legbar, 2 Easter Egger mix, and 1 Barred rock. So on hatch day I got 4 baby chicks. Sadly my other hen are 2 of them (definitely one of the silkies but the other I’m not quite sure). So this is my riddle. I have 4 chicks but 5 shells hatched. I know for such I have 1 silkie and 1 barred rock (and I think it’s definitly a boy). The other 2 are a mystery. They could be cream legbar or Easter Egger. Here are some photos of them and help with either the breed or sex would be great. Thanks

Do you know that the eggs are pure bred? Meaning Legbar rooster x Legbar hen, Barred Rock rooster x Barred Rock hen, etc.

I know the barred rock and silkie are pure bred. My lady said that the other were barn mixs. But one of my eggs was blue. She said that one was probably a cream legbar mix. So asking for breed identification might not be realistic.

Ok. The one is very likely a Legbar cross. The other is likely an Easter Egger.
The one with the blue/green leg...is the legbar cross?
And to ask a silly question...what exactly is an Easter Egger? I’ve tried to look it up on the internet but I’m confused. Does it just mean a mutt? Thanks for all the help

Mystery chick 1 looks to be the Legbar cross.

Easter Eggers are typically crossbreds that have breed bred for colored eggs. They can lay any color egg "usually green or blue/green" and any color/pattern. They typically have pea combs, green legs, and beard/muffs.

I’d hesitate to say that the cockerel is a barred rock, there’s not a bar on him. Male barred rocks have two barring genes and the barring is distinct in week old chicks. The females also tend to be darker, having only a single barring gene.
