Motor oil on feathers?!

I just put the dish soap in my hand and then directly on her. But it was mostly on her belly and her wings. Since it is on his face, I would maybe put some on a washcloth?? That is what I normally do for my dog when I give her a bath. That is definitely a much more difficult/sensitive area to deal with. It would probably be easier to deal with that way than trying to keep a soapy solution out of his eyes and mouth. As long as you get most of it off, I bet he will be okay. All of the oil residue came off my hen's feathers, especially after some dust baths! He sure is lucky to have such a nice neighbor!

I guess I consider him my responsibility now that he is hanging out with my girls...lol. They have so many roosters and they run around the neighborhood and in the road, luckily our neighborhood and streets are quiet! And if he is going to hang out with my hens, I don't want that stuff on them or around them! Thanks for the quick response and the great idea about using a washcloth!
