Mottled or not? What color is my boy considered?

I bought this Roo a few years back and I've always called him mottled (because that's what he was sold to me as being and the hen that came with him was def mottled but I thought maybe he was just a diff pattern??). He throws mottled, I have a gorgeous 2 month old pullet off him right now.... so what do you guys/gals think?

By far no expert on coloration, but he looks like a cross of mottled and laced.

There are modifiers that make a very clean mottled look and then there is the pied look caused by the mottling gene. Your bird has the unmodified mottling. No lacing is on the bird. Genetically it is impossible to get a white lace on a black background. White lacing on red background is possible.
