Mottled to splash

how would crossing a mottled to a splash express itself in the chicks? I assume they'd sort of look like a mess, but then again maybe not since the splash is blue x blue and the mottled is black mottled? So would I just get black and slightly mottled birds carrying blue?

They would all be blue, and all split to mottled.

Exactly the same cross I did this year with my mottled silkie project.

Comes out as onethespot says.

Yes! Please do. I only know of me and Sonoran Silkies working on them. The more lines the better then we can trade

Its always fun to be able to discuss with others doing the same projects so deffinatly keep in touch!

Now, I only need to wait like 6 months before the first eggs are layed well a little less but still

I could join in with my mottled girls. I culled their roo, as his temperament just was too cranky for my taste. I have five girls sitting with nothing to do and nowhere to go. I could put my newly acquired white showgirl roo in there. I have no idea what genetics he carries and his comb is not right, but it would be a start. I have a very nice blue roo coming along with a great comb, super toe separation, very soft cushion, good wings, good personality. He could cross on the babies of the showgirl roo next year. Mind if I join in? Doubt mille fleur would show up well on silkie feathers, or I would throw that in the mix too.
