**Mottling on my Split/Black Lavender Orpingtons**

Yes he definitely has me stumped, but I think he is really beautiful. I can't wait to see what he looks like after he molts.

I wonder if he will go full lavender after a molt?? The Lav gene must have got disrupted while trying to dilute the black out..??

Hinkjc showed me pic's before of him a LIL while back.. indeed something to keep a eye on and see were it goes from here..

This is my Lavender Roo that decended from Jody's, Lester.

Goodness.....I've never seen a lavender like that before.

Is he the only lavender you have like this? How many have you hatched from his parents?

Just to be clear, this unusual bird is not directly from my eggs or Lester, but someone else working on the project. It will surely be interesting to see how he finishes out and if the color holds like that. I am definitely interested in monitoring any potential throwbacks in the project. Thanks for sharing.

My knowledge of chicken genetics is essentially nil, but that is a handsome color combination.
