I have a Australorp that is moulting. I noticed the ISA BROWN pecking at her neck a little. The neck feathers are thin and I see the pin feathers but no blood. I have them on 18% protein feed that is sold for feather production. I feed them extra protein scraps too. Should I do something to protect the moulding chicken. I don't have an extra coop or pen.

If she was pecking to pull feathers, there would be blood.
Is the pecking persistent?
Is the Australorp acting distressed and running away?
Is the Australorp the only bird in your flock that is molting?
How much space do they have for how many birds?

The pecking was not persistent and the Australorp was not distressed there are three chickens in total and the Australorp is the only one moulting. I let them free range most of the day but they are in a pen most mornings. It is approx 8x3
