MOULTING

my wellsummer hens which I hatched last July and who are only laying since last March, appear to be starting moult , egg production has also dropped in the last week, I thought they wouldn’t moult until autumn, is this normal ?

Is it hot in your area? My hens sometimes molt sooner than usual if it is unusually hot.

Yes it has been unusually warm for the past few weeks, although has cooled a bit now, will it be a full molt ?

Are they losing a lot of feathers?
Have you checked closely for mites/lice?

Do you have any pictures? I think pictures will help us discern if it is an actual molt or lice/mites.
