Mountain Ash berries safe?

Are mountain ash berries safe for chickens to eat?
I have a tree full of red/orange mountain ash berries and the chickens like to eat those that have dropped to the ground. Should I be guiding them away from it or should they be ok?

Not sure about chickens, but I know the wild birds eat them all through the winter. So, I would think they should be all right.

When chickens have a choice of what to eat, it makes sense that they would eat suitable things. After all, they survived for a long time before domestication.
