Hi could anybody tell Me can I give my chickens a dead mouse I have just caught in a trap in my garage if I can do I have to cut it up thanks

You do not need to cut it up, though you certainly can if you wish. It won’t hurt. If it is too big for them to swallow whole they will peck it into bite-sized pieces.

Mine don’t always eat dead mice I give them if it has been a while since the last mouse, though most are eaten. Usually one will pick it up and run with it and some others chase to try to take it away. They peck the mouse until it is totally limp, bones broken and all that, so it is easier to swallow whole. On rare occasions it will get pecked into parts.

Thanks I have given the mouse to them and it's great just watching them run around

I tried to feed them a whole rat once and they just stared it while making unnerved noises, as if they thought it might jump at them. Wouldn't touch it.
