I noticed my 4/5 yr old chicken seem to make a sneeze so i walked over and watched her eat and it seem like she was having trouble.. so I scooped her up and looked inside her mouth and saw what looks like puss pockets! What could this be and what to do. Ive have my 3 and 6 weeks old chicks in same coop.. but seperated.

Have you seen any signs of fowl pox lately, which leave scabs on the face, combs, and wattles? The yellow plaques in the beak could be signs of wet pox, canker (histomoniasis,) or other viral or bacterial infections. Is there a bad odor?

I only have 3 adults.. and the other 2 are fine I watched them eat and looked at the combs, no spots. The one with mouth sores had no other signs, except the one small sneeze.. They free range all day and I have not noticed anything unusual.

Here is some info on canker, which is treated with metronidazole (FishZole, Flagyl.)

If you have mosquitoes out fowl pox could be the issue, but you should see some tan or brown scabs on the comb, wattles, or face.

If you could see a vet, it might be easier to get a diagnosis rather than treat with different medicines. Canker is spread by pigeons. Pox is spread by mosquitoes. Respiratory diseases such as ILT, MG, and coryza can cause yellow plaques as well.

Does she have trouble swallowing or eating/drinking?

I got to give you props:thumbsup one sneeze and you got chicken's beak pryed open and complete photo shoot of inside its mouth.
If my chicken sneezes I don't even say "Bless you" I ignore it and go about day.

I'm more freaking out because i have my new chicks in the same coop. There separate but if this can be contagious through the air then I'm going to be panicked! Also I'm in the Mississippi Delta "mosquito heaven" and with all the rain that has been sitting around out here in the country I'm even more worried. I do feel like I might caught this early. She was trying to eat and it looked like she could swallow but with a little difficulty.

I have know idea what it is but you can always squirt some hydrogen peroxide in its mouth(beak) it's oral antiseptic won't hurt it if it swallows some

Disinfect all your waterers and feeders with bleach. Clean with soap and water, and refill them with clean water every day. If you see any puddles or other places where they might drink, try to prevent it. Separate the affected chicken from the others. If you cannot see a vet, I would get some FishZole 250 mg online, and begin treatment for canker. Dosage is 250 mg by mouth daily for 5 days.

Look for any fowl pox scabs on the others. @dawg53 and @casportpony are both familiar with either wet pox or canker and may be of help. Here is some reading with pictures of wet pox:
