Not that it couldn't happen, but it hasn't in the 8 years I've been running the pasture pens. I've only ever had ravens pull a bird or two through the chicken wire occasionally - which hardware cloth would resolve, but I'm too cheap for that . If you move the pens everyday like they are meant to be used, it throws the predators off. Leave them in one spot for a couple days and you are asking for trouble to show up.
