I have a hen that made a nesting area in the top row of role out nests .
today my daughter was checking the chickens an found a chick in the run with the other chickens. The role out nest is about 4 feet off the floor in the henhouse an the house is 3 feet off the ground. So when I heard this I moved the hen an the nest and the baby to a small cage (because the only way for the baby to be in the run with the rest of the chickens is she had to fall out of the nest) But she hasn't gone back to the nest but is caring for the Baby chick.
How long should I weight for her to get back on the nest. what should I do.
