Hi everyone..

My call duck is sitting on about 9 eggs. I am in the process of building a new pen for them and my young chickens.. it will be about 45 X 35 ft. It will be done in about a week.

Anyway.. If I can, Id like to move the ducks nest to the new pen.. but I dont want to chance her abandoning the eggs.. Im not even sure they are fertile because I have never seen the drakes mounting her.. Ive seen the others having there fun though.. so some of the eggs could be from another duck..

Id like some opinions on whether to move them or not.. They are fine where they are so its not an emergancy..

And another question... I built the pen around a large blackberry bush.. Im in the process of cutting them out, but will they bother the ducks?

Thank you.

If you don't have to move them, I would not. You will run the risk of her abandoning. If you choose to move them, do it at night. For some reason, I have heard, this is less "traumatic" to her. Good luck.
