I have about 22 chickens now. Much loved pets. There is a high probability that we could be moving from Washington State back to Wisconsin. I'd like to take 15 birds with me. How would one go about that? Can I put them 2 or 3 at a time into something along the line of rabbit transport cages? It would be about a 2 day drive since I drive straight through.

What do the experts here think? Advice??

I've never done what your trying to do but don't put them in the back of your truck are anywhere that gets to hot. They will need food & water. You could stop every couple of hours & give them water & feed. A dog kennel would work you can put them together. If you keep them covered like its dark they will relaxes & sleep. I'm happy to see that you want to take the flock with you. That's great. Treat them like you would treat your children while traveling & they should do fine.
Depending on how big the kennel is will indicate how many per kennel. Give them some room. Good Luck & if you do move let us know how the chooks do on the road. I've taken chickens in my car before & they usually just sit there. Put some towels in the kennel for them to lay on.
