What would y'all do?? I can't decide-- I'm getting ready to move from NC(7B) to NY(5B), I have several plants in my garden that would fit the new zone, but I'm worried they're too established to actually make the journey. I know that the house I'm currently in is going to get torn down for a housing development, so a part of me is a bit heartbroken about leaving behind to just get bulldozed, but then the other side is like do I want to really dig everything up and drag it to the new house? It'd be five hydrangeas, a bunch of hostas, a couple of st. john's wort and some perennial flowers. If a family were moving in I wouldn't worry about any of it 🤷‍♀️

If you have the time, go for it. I wish I brought more plants with me when I moved. Anything with a taproot will be harder to dig up and move successfully. For any larger plants that still have leaves, you'll want to trim the top since you'll be trimming the roots.
