Moving Button auil to new home

If they only hatched two weeks ago, they are not ready to go outside yet. I would wait until they're at least 6 weeks old.

Where in CA are you? There is a big difference in climate between say, San Diego area, SF Bay Area, and further north CA in the Sierras.

There is no such thing as too big a coop. There IS such a thing as too large openings. Are all of the open parts of the coop covered in 1/2" hardware cloth? A picture of the coop/run area would really help.
I'm in the bay area. Could I put them in in these temperatures at 3 weeks old, with a small heat lamp in their huge run in?

I never kept my buttons outdoors when I lived in Petaluma. I know it rarely gets below freezing in that area, so they will probably be okay with a heat lamp. How large is your run, though? If it's large enough that they can't find their way back to the heat easily, you may lose some.

The average temperature is around 75 until they mature more... I have only 5 and they're 16 days old and I really don't want to lose any. I assume the run is a bit over or under 6 feet long. They also have a nesting coop, but I'm not sure how I could put a heat lamp or pad if it's inside the coop and I can't connect it to a portable outlet through the mesh.
