I'm planning to move this summer from IL to UT, and I wonder what I need to know on how to travel with the little ones? The chickens are actually still eggs, and I plan to have around 5 by the time of the move. My boyfriend (who currently is in VA) is paranoid that the move from IL to UT is going to be torture for the biddies. I tried search, but I only found posts on laws on carrying them through state lines?

What are ways to move chickens long distances without stressing them to death? Thank you!

I would guess basic common sensical like, you should keep them in a dark, well cushioned carrier with good ventilation and access to water or prepare to offer water whenever you stop.

I thought that was normal for cats and dogs? I never transported bird-kind, but I thought it needed something extra. Thank you though~!
