Hi all,

We are moving in this next week to a farm about an hour or so away from where we're living now. We've never moved chickens before. We kind-of have an idea of how we want to do this, but any advice anyone can share would be greatly appreciated.

Of note, they will have temporary coops set up at the new house before they are moved there. I primarily need advice on the move itself... is it best to do it at night? Early morning?

Thanks in advance!

I would move when the weather is cooler if you're planning on stuffing many birds together. Provide good air circulation too. Good luck on your move!

I have always moved them at night. Then kept them in a run for several days until they get used to the new home and then after 10 days or so, let them free range a little late in the day. Make is a slow process so they can get comfortable first.
