My son will be moving out in the next 2-3 months taking his chickens with him ... just wanna make sure that the chickens will adjust to the new location ok. They will be in their our coop just a new location.

I think so! I'd try to have it all set up as it is now, and keep food and feeders am everything the same. I might add probiotics to water for a day or two after the move to help with any stress. Good luck to all your babies leaving the nest!!

Thanks :) Lucky for us our 2 chickens are staying with us ... but it will be quiet without our son & his "crew" ... we will have some adjusting to do ... the dog & chickens will be spoiled with attention ... thanks for the advice I will pass it along to my son (regarding the probiotics ... he was already planning on havinf everything in the same places

I moved in December about 70 miles north in Maine. I packed 11 hens and a rooster in 2 covered cages in the back of my SUV and put them in a new henhouse that was all set up a head of time. I took my time not to rush them or chase them, and I talked to them quietly. They adjusted well and I didn't lose any or have any get sick. I like to think they were too happy just to be moving with me. I have had 2 of the hens 7 years and most are 4-5 years old. It wasn't even an option to find them new homes.
