Hey y'all, I know this question has probably been beaten to death...so I figured why not ask it again, just to really drive it home. So for some background information, this is my family's first flock - 12 chicks. They were hatched on December 12, 2015, so they're about 5-6 weeks old. My wife and I live in Southern Louisiana and the weather isn't that cold. It's been around 40-50° at night. We have the chicks in the house at the moment, and where they're at it's about 65°+-, depending on if it's night or day. We don't turn the heat on much. We still have the heat lamp but its pretty high off the chicks, and they don't really seem to congregate under it that much anyway. So here is my question. We have a coop outside that came with the house. When can we move them? If it wasn't for the fact that they're getting big I wouldn't ask, but they are...so, yeah. Also, since I have your attention, I've read some places that you should take your flock out during the day to help acclimate them. Thoughts? Thanks for the help. Keep up the good work everybody...and please don't judge me based upon my grammatical errors. I'm typing on a small phone.
