We move up to central Illinois this coming Tuesday, April 2.

It has been such an experiance. We did have some people and friends come forward and help us in this mess. We have been so blessed to have these friends in our lives. For the past week they have helped pack up 95% of our stuff into boxes and even driven the 4 hours up to where we are moving, helped with work up there, and the 4 hour drive back. There is no way my husband and I could have gotten this done without their help.

I am not sure many things I did were so great for my broken leg. I did get into a wheelchair and was pushed to what couple rooms we could get the chair into. I did a lot of bending and such and that put pressure on my leg in the area of the fracture. But hey, the stupid thing isn't healing any way. It was 5 months on March 23, and still no healing on the darn leg.

I understand. Both my husband and I were born and raised there. Moved to MO in 1985 when all the factories, coal mines closed, and other factories laid off massive amounts of people. All the jobs were gone.

Hated the politics and even back in those days, upper Illinois & Chicago area and mid - lower part of Illinois were always at odds. But, that is where my family is (what family is still alive) and it has always felt like home, even being away for 28 years.

I know the state is broke, no jobs, economy is crap, but it is where we have a place to live. When hubby retired last spring of 2012, we had no idea how much he would lose (employer hid a lot of things) and when you can not pay your home payments, the mortgage company takes the home away from you. When you only have $2,100 a month to live on, and you have a lot of bad health issues (bad heart disease, asthma, diabetes, auto-immune disease, and more I am not going to list) that cost doctors visits, medications, gas to go to doctor and if hospital is needed, add in monthly utilities, food to eat, doctors and meds for my husband besides mine, and other monthly living expenses; if you have someone who happens to have an older home on some land that while it is barely livable and needs a lot of work, you move to where you can get a home to live in. Especially when you have no money to buy a home, and not even be able to rent a home. So, even with the politics and the state split and at odds with each other, and the state is broke, with rotten political leaders; you gotta go where there is someplace to live so you are not homeless on the streets. I hope that explains why we would go back.
