I've been out to check on them like 6 times!I still get "empty nest" syndrome when my chicks head outside to the coop for good.
Cute babies!
It's easy to worry over them at first. I don't sleep well that first night they sleep out in the coop!I've been out to check on them like 6 times!![]()
Ok so I just went and checked and they are huddled together in a corner. Its 60° in there. Do they huddle because they are scared? They shouldn't be cold. It's easy to worry over them at first. I don't sleep well that first night they sleep out in the coop! And I too constantly check on them!
Moving outside makes them feel vulnerable so its common for them to huddle, sleep in the corner or in the nest boxes. Once they have slept in the coop a few nights, they will gain confidence that they are safe. Don't let them sleep in the boxes, (block them off at night for a while) and physically put them on the roost bar at night until they learn how to roost.Ok so I just went and checked and they are huddled together in a corner.
