I'm on day 5 in the bator...my humidity keeps dropping, not sure why. (This isn't my first hatch and I keep monitoring the humidity - I can get it up, but after a few hours it drops again. It is kind of dry here this week though).

Can I move some of the eggs from the bator to the broody at this stage? They are in a Genesis 1588 with autoturner. Precious cargo and I can't risk losing this hatch. If I move them now to the broody (who is SERIOUSLY broody), will laying them down under her cause them to drown since they've been used to being pointy end down in the bator?

I'm a wreck with this one!

How long has she been broody? If she has already been broody for a couple of weeks, I would be worried that she wouldn't finish the job. If I were going to slip eggs under her I would do it at night. Just place the eggs in front of her and she will pull them underneath her. Don't worry about the position of the eggs, she knows what she is doing.

I should have clarified, sorry - she is setting on 3 eggs that are due the same time as the bator eggs. I basically took 3 out of the shipped eggs I bought and gave them to her to see which would be more successful. So, if I slip 4 more or so under her, they'd still all hatch at about the same time in theory - unless the beginning slowed things down for the 4 from the bator...

what do you think?

Honestly, I'm not an expert, but I'd say put them under her! Or you could always put half under her and keep half in the 'bator, if you're nervous. I just feel like, if there's a broody available, she'll likely do a better job than any incubator, and especially in the critical phase of right before they hatch. Regardless of what you choose, good luck!

Great, that's what I was hoping you'd say, thanks!!
