Moving from Farm to Subsurbs with Chickens

Thank you so much for the help! Oh and Drumstick Diva, we are allowed to have 4, so 6 is uhhh... A little bit of a jump but we will be fine. Plenty of privacy and they're not loud at all!

X3 like drumstick diva and Beekissed said, take the run and the coop/house if you can, or make another one, hawks like bird feeders in the winter, and racoons especially seem to be as bad in the suburbs as they are in the country with all the people feeding them, cats are another potential problem you may see more in suburbs, and then there are the neighborhood dogs if they ever get in the yard. Also if you aren't used to having your chickens in a suburban type backyard, they may make a lot more mess and be a lot more destructive than you want. If the run is chicken wire I would just take the whole thing apart however makes it easiest to transport and take the chicken wire off, reassemble as needed at the new place and put on hardware cloth... like diva said, how you reassemble may depend on what the laws are regarding chickens and outbuildings in your new neighborhood.
Moving them is pretty easy, I like the plastic dog carriers, but if you have them, cardboard boxes you can throw away are probably easiest, chickens do poop a lot. Just put some air holes in the box, some shavings on bottom, and put the chickens in and close, chickens really don't seem to mind traveling by car, and if you cover them or go at night, chickens tend to be quiet in the dark so they probably won't do a thing.

Heck, I have chickens that traveled better than my kids did. (Moved last year)

Not a single one of them asked over and over "are we there yet?".

Ditto that! All the chickens I've transported were extremely good and calm travelers. No worries.
