Hello all! My husband and I will be packing up, leaving Texas and moving to Colorado. We took several vacations there and fell in love. We have an area in mind where we hope to settle, but no set address yet. One of the things I'm most excited by is finally having chickens. I've been a veterinary technician all my life, did wildlife rehabilitation and bred parrots and bearded dragons. I used to watch my fish for an hour or more, finding them fascinating and relaxing. I'm positive watching a flock interact will be constant entertainment.
I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone. While my husband is from Oregon, I'm from Maryland and Colorado winters will be a new adventure for me.
Thanks in advance for all the guidance, this new chicken venture will be a learning experience.

Welcome future neighbor. What part of the state are you looking at? The housing market in the front range is quiet now but heats up in the spring. It was at historical highs in the fall.
Pop on in the Colorado thread. We can help narrow your search area.

Hello and :welcome! I hope you enjoy BYC just as much as the rest of us do! Type 'Colorado' in the search box and you will find many state threads to join so you can become connected with other Coloradians! My mom used to be a vet tech, she worked with many cats and dogs. :)
