Moving my babies

I have a ? I just recently to my 3 week old chip out of house an put them in the coop with my 12 week old chics so they can get used to them my ? Is if I just let the babies free roam coop with other chickens will the hens keep them safe

A 3 week old chick is much too small & young, to put in with 12 week old chicks. Pecking order usually starts around 2 weeks of age and the baby is not going to fare well with them.
They could serious injure , bully or kill the young chick. Your adult birds could be much worse with him.

Please check out threads on "integrating chicks with older birds." If your weather is cool, it too soon for the baby chick to be without heat.

Hi and welcome to BYC. I would not add a 3 week old chick to 12 week olds, and no, the mature chickens will not protect the 3 week old. This link may help you out...
