There are some great coop builds on here that people have posted pictures on and great information on ventilation and roost types that are well worth a read.
We built ours from pallets.
The two most important things for us have been making sure there is enough ventilation and that it predator proof. Chicken wire for example seems to be to stop chickens getting out, it won't stop anything getting to your chickens.
