Moving old flock into pen with chicks

We have a PR rooster and 3 PR hens in our original flock. We also have 17 chicks (7 wks old) who are already in the large new coop and run. We are planning on moving the older flock in with the chicks in the larger area and using their small coop and run as a grow out pen, broody pen, etc. Everything that I've read gives suggestions on adding chicks into an established flocks's territory. I will be adding an established flock into the chick's territory. Does it make a difference or will it be the same process?

I'd suggest the process will not differ dramatically - there's no way a 7 year old chick is going to start chasing and pecking adults (the little fellas may try, but they will be put in their place very quickly).

I agree with CTKen...whether you add new chicks with the older birds or vice versa, there will still be an integration process to work out.
