Everything online conflicts from 3 weeks to 8 weeks so when do you move your chicks out?Mine youngest are 3 weeks and fully feathered but smaller whereas my oldest is five weeks and chunky. At the moment the are all without heat indoors where the temperature will reach probably 63 farenheit lowest at night and probably more likely to be low 70s, high 60s. Outside the temperature is 55 farenheit at night, but their pen is almost enclosed in plastic sheeting with air holes and they have a warm nest box with hay and sawdust. So when would you take the plunge and put them out?

I am wondering the same thing. The only difference with me is the nights are in the mid 70's and the days are mid 90's. I know the days are fine but the nights is my only concern. My chics are 4 weeks old TA&M's and they are fully feathered.

Everyone does differently and has different setups and local weather. When i got my first bunch it was still cold. They were 5.5wks and it was 40-55* at night and 50-60* during the day. First two nights i brought em inside. After that i just made sure they had food and water and they would all pile in the haybox to sleep.

My 5 coturnix were 3 weeks old yesterday. I moved them outside last night and all were doing ok today. It was there first time on wire and they don't seem to like it. They are doing a lot of sitting. I live near San Antonio 70's at night and 90's during the day. Next time I might wait till week four.
