Hi everyone, I'm new to this group and originally joined to prepare for finally living somewhere I can have chickens.
My husband and I currently live in Texas, and are hoping to find 5 to 10 acres to settle permanently on. We have been coming to Colorado for vacations several times over the last 2 years, and we fell in love and knew it's where we wanted to put down roots. We never ventured to the more "touristy" places, neither of us ski. We felt at home in the mountains, the Spanish Peaks took my breath away.
I'm looking forward to talking with everyone.
Thanks for all the warm welcome posts.

I personally would recommend prairie - I live in Bennett, and it's a long drive into town, but you can't get a better view of the sunset. I can see, like, half of the Rockies from my backyard, and it's neat to be able to watch a cold front roll in.
I'm not a skier, but I don't get into the mountains alot either

Colorado Springs is really pretty, and there's elk everywhere.

I don't travel much, especially that far south, but I know That Canon City has a population of wild mustangs, which is pretty cool. Trinidad is very historic, but I've only ever driven through. I want to live down there when I move out

Hope this helps!
